The construction of Malota Community School ablution block has elated the school administration stressing that the school had challenges with the deficit of toilets because of the increased number of pupils being enrolled.
The project is being undertaken using the 2025 CDF allocation at a contract sum of K389, 500.00
The school has a population of more than 600 pupils and therefore good sanitation is critical to the wellbeing of both pupils and members of staff. Lack of proper and enough toilets compromises the standards of hygiene of the environment leading to outbreak of diarrheal diseases and urinary infections.
Once the tiles are fixed, being the only works remaining to be completed, the ablution block will be opened to the pupils and members of staff. This will greatly improve the sanitation of the school especially that the school area is small with a high number of pupils.
The pupils and members of staff are eagerly waiting for the commissioning of the ablution block which is anticipated to take place in the first quarter of 2025.
